Review of the Harmony High Volume Sea Kayak Bilge Pump

I recently started carrying a Harmony dual action bilge pump in my kayak and finally got to put it to the test while paddling the Chipola River with a group of friends. While negotiating a turn around a submerged tree the kayak traveling in front of me capsized. The paddler was able to extricate himself and then managed to pull his kayak to slightly shallower but still waist deep water. Discovering that it was going to be problematic to empty the kayak of water I remembered  that I had the bilge pump and I passed it over.

Testing out the Harmony High Volume Bilge Pump

It only took a couple of minutes to empty the kayak with the Harmony pump since it’s designed to push out water on both the upward and downward stroke. I was impressed with the volume of water that was able to handle as well and after seeing it in action I’ve decided to never leave home without it.

Soon we were back on our way enjoying a relaxing paddle down the Chipola River. If you’re in the market for a bilge pump for your kayak or canoe I highly recommend the Harmony High Volume Bilge Pump.
