Pitt Spring Entrance
Located north of Panama City, Fl, on Hwy 20 in Bay County approximately 8.5 miles east of Hwy 77 lies several points of interest nestled into one small area: Econfina Creek, Pitt Spring, Sylvan Spring group and Williford Springs. 1/4 mile south of the Econfina Bridge is the Gainer Spring group. Upon arriving at the Pitt Spring Recreation Area, visitors will first notice the gated entryway that leads to a small parking lot with room for about a dozen vehicles. Don’t worry, additional parking is available on Strickland Road a short distance to the west. There is no admission fee and park hours are dawn to dusk.

Visitors can choose from several locations to visit within the small park. Pitt Spring is the first accessible spring right across from the parking lot. It hosts several pavilions, grills, a composting toilet, floating canoe/tube dock and swimming area. Heading back across the parking lot is a boardwalk leading to a tube launch, the Sylvan Spring Group and a hiking trail that leads to the west parking area and to Williford Springs.

Since Econfina Creek is a popular destination during the summer months, expect crowds or plan to visit mid-week. The Econfina Canoe Livery is located a short distance up Strickland road for those wishing to plan a longer float trip.
